THE FC JEAN-NOËL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Played just outside Lens (one of the World Cup venues) and only an hour from Calais, this is a well organised tournament attracting 20 teams from all over Europe!

It is a Men’s Open Age tournament.

This tournament starts on Saturday morning and ends on Sunday evening – 2-day tournament.

Tournament format:

There are 20 teams in the competition divided into 4 divisions of five teams each.

Each game will be of two halves, each of 20 minutes.

Five substitutes will be allowed in each game.

Points will be awarded – 3 pts for a win, 2 pts for a draw, and 1 pt for a defeat.  Goal average will be used to separate teams with the same number of points.

 A YELLOW CARD will result in a 10-minute “expulsion” from the game in which it is given.

A RED CARD will result in a ban from the remainder of the tournament.

What kind of accommodation is available?

A 2 star hotel situated in the centre of Lens opposite the FC Lens stadium.  All the rooms are en suite facilities with telephone direct and TV.  It has its own bar - restaurant.

You can as well stay in Lille, which is about 50km away from Aix-Noulette (tournament's venue).  Hostel and hotel accommodation are available. 

How can I get there?

By coach – travel by coach using the ferry crossings from Dover to Calais.  It takes about 1 hour to get to Aix Noulette (tournament's venue) from Calais.

By minibus – for those groups travelling with fewer numbers, an alternative is to hire your own self-drive minibus and we can provide the ferry crossing, the accommodation and make the arrangements for entry into the tournament.

By air – there are flights to Lille and Brussels (which are the closest airport to Lens) from most of the major UK airports.
